Key steps to making your own e-cigarette

Raw Material Preparation (High-Risk Stage)
Battery Selection: A high-performance lithium battery (such as the 18650 model) is required, but inferior batteries are prone to explosion. There have been cases where batteries without a pressure relief valve spontaneously combusted during a short circuit.
E-liquid Mixing: The basic formula is a 1:1 mixture of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG), with 5%-15% flavoring added. If nicotine is added, the concentration must be precisely controlled (e.g., 3mg/mL); improper handling can easily lead to poisoning.
Atomizer Construction (Technical Challenges)
Coil Winding: The nickel-chromium wire must be wound into a uniform spiral (5-8 turns) using a winding rod. The resistance must be tested with a multimeter. Beginners often experience localized overheating and a burnt taste due to uneven coil spacing.
E-wicking Cotton Treatment: Fluorescent-free organic cotton must be used. After cutting, it must be soaked in e-liquid before installation; otherwise, dry burning may occur.
Assembly and Testing (Safety Verification): When connecting the atomizer to the battery, ensure the positive and negative terminals are correctly aligned; reverse installation may damage the chip. Upon initial power-on, briefly press the ignition button in an open environment and observe for smoke or unusual odors. Vapor production testing should be compared to a standard device (e.g., ≥50ml/puff vapor at 30W power).
